MANAGING DIRECTOR – Matthew Morson
Role Description
As the Managing Director Matthew is involved in estimating, securing new work, overall business management and financial planning.
Matthew also performs Engineering, Design and Management of the installation of Air Conditioning and Ventilation systems. He is responsible for designing financially viable mechanical systems or enhancing existing designs to ensure functionality and cost effectiveness.
Experience
Matthew has over 20 years experience in the Mechanical Services industry. He has been employed by Whiffen & Andrews since 2002 during which time he has successfully designed and overseen the installation of many of our large projects including The Ivy and Sydney Wildlife World, 257 Clarence St and Panorama Apartments.
Qualifications
Matthew has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree with Honours from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS).
DIRECTOR – Andrew Short
Role Description
Andrew joined our team of staff in June 2012 as an experienced Mechanical Engineer and is responsible for the design, engineering and management of efficient and cost effective Air Conditioning systems for our company.
As a director he is also involved in estimating, securing new work, overall business management and financial planning.
Experience
Andrew has over 20 years experience in the Mechanical Services industry
Qualifications
Andrew has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree with Honours from the University of Technology, Sydney.
CONSTRUCTION MANAGER – Steve Nowlan
Role Description
Steve is responsible for managing on-site activities of all our projects. He monitors all active projects and liaises between our Project Engineers, site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure works are carried out to our company QA and WHS standards.
Experience
Steve has over 30 years experience within the Air Conditioning industry starting from a trade background as a refrigeration mechanic through to his current role in site supervision. He has been employed by Whiffen and Andrews since 2015 and has co-ordinated large projects during this time including B1 Square Burwood, 88 Archer St Chatswood, IKEA MFLU Marsden Park, TJX Marsden Park, and St Aloysius College Refurbishment.
Qualifications
Steve has licenses in Commercial Refrigeration.
ESTIMATOR / ENGINEER – Abdul Muqeet
Role Description
Abdul joined our team of staff in February 2024 as an experienced Mechanical Engineer and is responsible for estimating along with the design and engineering of projects for our company.
Experience
Abdul has over 12 years experience in the Mechanical Services industry.
Qualifications
Abdul has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Osmania University.
SITE SUPERVISOR – David Josey
Role Description
David is responsible for managing on-site activities of our projects. He carries out the site co-ordination and liaises between our Project Engineers/Managers and our subcontractors to ensure works are carried out to our company standards. David also liaises with the builders and other trades on a day to day basis. David monitors all WHS site safety on his projects.
Experience
David has over 20 years experience within the Construction industry starting from an Electrical Technician in the Security Industry before moving onto Site Supervision and Project Management in the HVAC industry. He has been employed by Whiffen and Andrews since November 2019 and assisted in co-ordinated several large projects during this time including Edmondson Park Town Centre Apartments, Liverpool Affordable Living project and several public schools.

SITE SUPERVISOR – Stuart Peterson
Role Description
Stuart is responsible for managing on-site activities of our projects. He carries out the site co-ordination and liaises between our Project Engineers/Managers and our subcontractors to ensure works are carried out to our company standards. Stuart also liaises with the builders and other trades on a day to day basis. Stuart monitors all WHS site safety on his projects.
Experience
Stuart has over 14 years experience within the Construction industry starting from an Ductwork installing role before moving onto Site Supervision and Project Management in the HVAC industry. He has been employed by Whiffen and Andrews since February 2021 and currently assisting with The Harrington Collection and Darlington Public School projects.
Qualifications
AMCA Fire Damper Course, OH&S for Supervisors High Risk EWP and Work at Heights.
SITE MANAGER – Jason Cassar
Role Description
Jason is responsible for managing on-site activities of our projects. He carries out the site co-ordination and liaises between our Project Engineers/Managers and our subcontractors to ensure works are carried out to our company standards. Jason also liaises with the builders and other trades on a day to day basis. Jason monitors all WHS site safety on his projects.
Experience
Jason has over 25 years experience within the Construction Industry with a refrigeration trade background. He has worked as a Project Coordinator in air diffusion. For the past 10 years Jason was a Site Manager in the HVAC industry. He has a strong knowledge of industrial air conditioning and has worked in all types of commercial HVAC.
Qualifications
Diploma of HVAC - Refrigeration Engineering
Certificated III in Electrotechnology Refrigeration and Air Conditioning

ADMINISTRATION MANAGER – Tracey Condren
Role Description
Tracey is responsible for the company Financial record keeping and the day to day management of all administrative and accounting requirements within the company.
Role Description
Tracey has over 30 years experience in book keeping and administrative roles.
ENGINEERING CONSULTANT – Brendon Gregg
Role Description
Brendon assists with design development and uses his extensive experience to provide unique insight and design guidance to the directors, estimators and project engineers.
Experience
Brendon started with Whiffen & Andrews in 1986. He has had many roles over the years including Design Draftsman, Project Manager, Project Engineer and Managing Director. He has been involved in hundreds of Design & Construct projects during is career and continues to provide support to Whiffen & Andrews in his current consulting role.
Qualifications
Mechanical Engineering Certificate.
